Story
Manami (played by Ito Ono) moved to Okinawa to work in a travel agency, where she meets a client, a Vietnamese trainee named Khoa (played by Win Morisaki). Khoa is drawn to Manami who dreams about seeing whales breach-a pleasant memory she wants to revisit. Manami has a sad past. She lost her mother in the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. While accompanying Khoa's company traveling to Zamami Island, a place full of memories with her late mother, Manami gazes out at the ocean with a look of loneliness. Seeing such her face, Khoa reminds her, "You can't change the past, but you can create your own future." Khoa's simplicity and straightforwardness gradually opens Manami's heart as she feels his warmth and kindness.
Notes
Almost drawn together by fate, a woman who has lost her dreams meets a Vietnamese man who is following his own. The two overcome borders and prove their bond in this love story. Manami is played by Ito Ono, known for her role in "Ame ni yureru onna". Falling in love with her is Koa, played by Win Morisaki from Steven Spielberg's "Ready Player One". The entire film was shot in Okinawa and Vietnam.
