Trainer of more than 40 national champions, including "Kanmuriwashi" Yoko Gushiken, the mentor of Daigo Higa. The man's name is Shinkichi Kinjo.
What is his legacy? We hear the man's story from his own mouth, together with interviews of his students.

In his home town of Okinawa, Daigo Higa defends his title for the second time with KO in the first round. After the game, he takes into his hand a portrait of Shinkichi Kinjo, a great instructor in the world of amateur boxing in Okinawa, who died the year before. He was a fire fighter, but had taught about 40 high school champions. His training was tough. Under such hard coaching, Yoko Gushiken won interscholastic athletic championship for the first time. Being convinced that he is an ideal player with mental strength, skill and good physical condition for fight, Shinkichi wanted him to go to the Olympics, and set up for him to go to university. However, Gushiken was "lured away" by those of professional boxing to become a pro. Apologizing to his coach, Gushiken promised to "take over the world", and two years later he actually got his world title belt. About 10 years later, in 1987, the Kaiho national competition was a must win to Shinkichi. Several years earlier, Shinkichi had learned that there were children in the area that were not getting enough to eat. He remodeled his newly built home and built a dormitory and a ring. It was his wife Kiyoko that took care of dormitory meals and listened to everything that the kids couldn't say to scary Shinkichi. There were a lot of troubled kids in the dormitory. But Shinkichi willingly accepted those kids, saying that "even if you don't become a champion, become an adult that can go out into society without embarrassing yourself." The coaching of Shinkichi, over time, stopped producing champions. He was stunned by the sudden death of his wife, Kiyoko. Then in 2014, Shinkichi closed his gym. He then became ill. Still, to the very end his passion for boxing never disappeared.
