Story

The time is the Edo Period... After deregulation, old-fashioned Okitsugu Tanuma (Bunshi Katsura) thinks anything is OK as long as it makes money.
Elite samurai from the Echigo Nagaoka clan, Hironoshin Kobayashi angers his daimyo with a small thing, and is punished.
The punishment is to "catch cat fleas". "Remove the fleas from the cats..."

"Nomitori Samurai" is the film that director of "Black Widow Business", Yasuo Tsuruhashi, has wanted to make for 40 years. Hiroshi Abe plays elite samurai Hironoshin Kobayashi, a samurai who is too serious and angers his daimyo, who then makes him work "catching cat fleas".
