"YACHIMUN" Yomitan Village,Okinawa

Story

The studio of potter Seisho Kuniyoshi (Jun Murakami) is deep in the mountains, surrounded by greenery, where he devotes every day to making pottery. One day, a girl (Machiko Ono) appears and begins to destroy the pottery. Is it just Seisho's unconscious or a mad illusion? Then his life becomes caught up in the pottery... This is a depiction, without any dialogue, of the final days of a ceramist surviving in Yomitan Village, Okinawa.
Playing the part of Seisho is charismatic street culture actor Jun Murakami. Machiko Ono co-stars. Director of Photography is Suguru Takeuchi, with costumes from Michiko Kitamura.

Notes

Yomitan Village is part of Nakagami-gun, in the center of the main island of Okinawa. It is the village with the largest population in Japan. The village is also famous as a tourist resort, for its beatiful seas and coastline. "Yachimun no Sato" is also known as a village of pottery, and many well known ceramists live and work here.
